Wine Country Favor

A Regal Ribbons staffer recently celebrated a birthday in the Santa Ynez Valley in California. Known for its wineries and its breathtaking beauty, this area is a wonderful choice for any celebration. Our birthday girl took a winery tour on a lovely spring Saturday. The events being celebrated at wineries they visited included other birthdays, showers, retirement parties, and lavish weddings. We’re always fascinated by the favors used for these events, and it’s hard not to let your creative mind wander in such a wonderful setting. With so many events planned in places like this, our celebrator just had to suggest some of the great finds she encountered while visiting the local shops in this area. Nearly all the wineries offered gourmet goodies — chocolate covered blueberries, unique bottled spreads and olive oils, and luscious dessert wines. Any of these items would make wonderful favor for your guests! The local gift shops had souvenirs that were irresistible choices for ornament favors. Our celebrator selected an ornament at a Christmas Shop in the town of Solvang, one of the prime locales for the filming of the movie Sideways, to demonstrate the possibilities with finds from this type of shop. Her selection, an ornament that had been hand painted with the town name and a winery theme.

She adorned one with a personalized ribbon to demonstrate an easy-to-make memento for your special day.  Endless ideas abound in these areas.  If your special occasion is being celebrated in a touristy area, plan to visit well ahead of your event to take in the area and to shop for the perfect remembrance for your guests.
